2017 Film Selection Announced
New website ushers in our 2017 schedule of film screenings
After an intense and extended session of jury duty, our selection committee has announced the selected films of the 2017 Naperville Independent Film Festival, and we can't wait to show them to you!
Our team of 5 jurors watched submissions from 93 filmmakers and 15 screenwriters. Last minute entries pushed our process into July before deciding on the selections and then into August to arrange the screening schedule. And finally, the schedule is set.
But first, a very special thanks to our jurors: Donna Barnes, Karen Glazik, Mike Johnson, Len Kalinowski, and Ed Rivas. And special thanks to Al Eisley, our Lead Juror, who monitored submissions and arranged the schedule.
Now, the films!
Visit our film schedule pages beginning with Sunday, September 23. Each schedule page has a 6:00pm Seating section and an 8:15pm Seating section. That's how films will be shown. You'll buy a single ticket that will get you into a specific seating. Then you'll get to see the films listed there, and whenever the filmmakers are present, you'll also get some Q&A time with them.
If you hover your mouse over the film image (on a desktop computer) or if you tap on the image (mobile device), the image flips and you can watch the trailer for the film. Pretty slick, huh??
After the 2 sections listing the films for that night, there's a little message about Hollywood Palms Cinema, our host for the festival, and then an index of days for the rest of the festival. After viewing Saturday's lineup, click on the Sunday button and keep going thoughout the week.
If you're a foreign-film buff, we are showing the winners from the ECU, the European Independent FIlm Festival, also during the week. We'll have 6:15pm seatings and 8:30pm seatings of these shows. Take a look at the schedule on the ECU page.
The festival concludes on Saturday, September 30, with a gala awards ceremony where 26 films and 5 screenplays vie for BEST OF and take home a beautiful NIFFTY, the festival trophy.
We look forward to seeing you at Hollywood Palms during festival week.
